Since our active participation in the United Nations General Assembly Special Session on the World Drug Problem (UNGASS) in 2016, we are participating in United Nations events on drugs, particularly in the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs. (CND). Our presence at CND sessions has remained constant, participating both virtually and in person, to contribute with inputs, present written statements, organize side events and trigger key debates.

In 2023 , we were given the opportunity to speak at the CND plenary, where we highlighted the importance of addressing the stigmatization and marginalization of people who use drugs, as well as the need to adopt approaches based on harm reduction and in human rights in drug policies. This speech emphasized our commitment to promoting more inclusive and effective policies in this area.

During the CND session in 2024, we organized a side event focused on the traditional and cultural use of the coca leaf, highlighting the importance of respecting the ancestral practices of indigenous communities who have used this plant sacredly for centuries. This event was a platform to discuss how drug policies can be adapted to protect the rights of these communities and promote cultural diversity. Additionally, we have submitted written statements and presented working papers over the years, advocating for more humane, inclusive and evidence-based approaches to drug policy. Our continued commitment to the CND reflects our dedication to promoting a constructive and progressive dialogue on the future of international drug policy.
